Today is the big day to go back in the water. Weeks of work come to an end. Thanks to all the support from the friendly and welcoming people in the Yard! You people are gorgeous!

Peter Pan an Land - Haul out

Am 17.7.2013 ging es fuer Peter Pan an Land. Wir sind nun in Norton's Marina - East Greenwich- auf dem Trockendock und schleifen fleissig das Antifouling und die rote Farbe ab. Nach fast 4 Jahren ist ein Landgang auch faellig gewesen. Jetzt hoffen wir, dass das Wetter mitspielt und wir bald streichen koennen um schnell wieder zurueck ins nasse Element entlassen werden koennen.

We hauled out on the 17th of July. We are in Norton's Marina in East Greenwich. It's a lot of sanding and then painting... We hope that we will soon be back in the water with a nice finish.

Yeaahhh, wir haben einen unglaublichen 'Independence Day' in Bristol verbracht und sind jetzt in East Greenwich vor Anker. Es ist alles soooo anders! Aber nett! Wo gibt es schon Leute die einem einfach ihren Autoschluessel zu ihrem Truck uebergeben und einem mit den Worten 'Have fun' zum naechsten Einkaufscenter schicken???

We spend an awesome 4th of July in Bristol and we are now in East Greenwich, Greenwich Bay. Everything is different, but nice!!! Where in the world is another place where the dockmaster gives you the key of his truck with the words 'have fun' and the explanation how to find the next mall???

Newport, Rhode Island - USA

Am 25.6.2013 sind wir in Newport angekommen. Fuer die Strecke Bermuda - Newport haben wir 7 Tage gebraucht, etwas laenger als erwartet, da wir wenig Wind hatten. 'Der Segler kommt, wann er kann'!

We arrived on the 25th of June in Newport. We sailed from Bermuda to Newport in seven days, because of the lack of wind... all sound and safe!

Bermuda

Seit dem 3. Juni 2013 sind wir in Bermuda. Die Umgebung laedt zum Wandern und Entdecken ein. Die Menschen sind sehr freundlich, so dass man sich ueberall willkommen fuehlt. Wir mussten ein Ersatzteil fuer unseren Autopiloten ordern, auf das wir noch warten. Wenn sich das Wetter zu unseren Gunsten entwickelt, werden wir in Richtung USA aufbrechen.

Wann das sein wird, steht noch nicht ganz fest.

 

We are since the 3rd of June in Bermuda. It is a beautiful place to walk around and explore. the people are so friendly, that you feel welcome wherever you go.

We ordered a spare part wich we were waiting for. We are heading to the States as soon as the weatherforecast is good for us. We will see when.

Antigua 2013

Wir wuenschen allen ein spannendes, glueckliches und gesundes Jahr 2013!
Wir sind nun schon seit vier Wochen wieder in Antigua, haben die Peter Pan unbeschadet aus den Mangroven gezogen und liegen seit drei Wochen vor Anker in Falmouth Harbour vor Pigeon Beach.
.... doch was uns wundert... wo ist Mr. Google mit unseren Fotos geblieben???? Leider ist in unserer Foto Galerie 'ein Fehler aufgetreten' und man empfiehlt uns das 'gadget' zu loeschen. Aha, ok, meine Fotos sind also im Nirvana des 'world wide web' verschwunden???!!!
Falls sich irgendjemand auskennt und sie wieder herbei zaubern kann, ich wuerde mich riesig freuen!!! Denn so wird es keine Traeumereien mehr im Bildformat auf unserer Seite geben! Waere schade, oder? Also, vielen Dank fuer die Hilfe bei der Suche....

We are back in Antigua since 4 weeks. We left Peter Pan for the hurricane season in the mangroves and she looked good when we came back and pulled her out of there. Now we anchored in Fanlmouth Harbour off Pigeon Beach.
...what we are wondering.... where Mr Google put our photos??? There is an 'error' in our foto galery and they say we should 'remove' the gadget. So, are our photos lost in the Nirvana of the worl wide web???? If there is anybody out there who find them, I appreciate it when we get them back! Thanks for searching :)

Antigua - Germany

Mal wieder alle Plaene geaendert und einen Deutschlandaufenthalt eingeschoben.Am letzten Abend noch ein kleines Wunder erlebt... Sehe zuerst ganz unerwartet eine Yoga-Freundin aus Grenada im Trappas sitzen, wir leisten ihr, ihrem Freund und deren befreundeten Seglerpaar Gesellschaft. Uns kommt der Typ so bekannt vor und es stellt sich heraus, dass wir Phillip im Oktober 2007 in Port St Louis getroffen haben und es vergeht keine Stunde, dann treffen wir Peter und Angela vom Rio Guadiana wieder. Die Seglerwelt ist wirklich klein und es ist grossartig ein Teil von ihr zu sein!!! Danke fuer die letzten grossartigen Tage und Stunden auf Antigua, wir sehen uns bald wieder ;-)

Plans changed and we are for a short while in Germany.Thanks for the wonders and wonderful last hours. First I saw one of my Grenada Yoga-Goddesses in Trappas, we joined her, her boyfriend and their friends...And this guy looked so familiar and after a short brainstorm.. yes, we met Phillip in Oct 2007 in Port St Louis! And not even an hour later Peter and Angela came into the same restaurant, we met them on the Rio Guadiana in 2008! Crazy! And thanks to Trudy and Andy who arrived a few hours earlier and gave us a ride to shore :) I love this small sailing community, it feels good to be a part of it! See you soon ;-)
